Los Angeles has welcomed a new destination for electronic music as ORIGIN officially launches in the Arts District. With a capacity of approximately 1,000 people, a custom-designed KV2 Audio sound system and opening performances from MRAK, Kölsch, Liva K and Malive, the venue is bringing a fresh approach to the city’s house and techno nightlife.
Los Angeles continues to expand its electronic music landscape with the arrival of ORIGIN, a new independent nightclub located at 613 Imperial Street in Downtown LA’s Arts District.
The venue launched its grand opening weekend on October 9 and 10, 2026, introducing an indoor-outdoor entertainment concept designed specifically for electronic music.
Created by experienced nightlife promoters Roni Mehrabian and Cyril Bitar, ORIGIN aims to establish a permanent home for Los Angeles’ electronic music community, combining an industrial-inspired atmosphere with carefully developed audiovisual technology.
A New Chapter for Downtown Los Angeles Nightlife
ORIGIN occupies the former LOT 613 location, an industrial event space that previously hosted numerous electronic music performances and cultural events.
Rather than abandoning the building’s history, the new project builds upon its connection to the city’s underground scene.
The venue combines a main indoor performance area with an expansive outdoor patio, allowing organizers to create different types of musical experiences.
With room for approximately 1,000 attendees, ORIGIN offers an alternative to both smaller underground clubs and large-scale festival venues.
Its founders have extensive experience in Los Angeles nightlife, having worked on projects including SBCLTR, Minimal Effort, Brunch Electronik, The Maze and other electronic music events.
Their objective is to create a venue that prioritizes musical programming, production quality and the connection between artists and audiences.
MRAK and Kölsch Headline the Opening Weekend
ORIGIN launched with an international lineup featuring established names from house and techno.
On Friday, October 9, MRAK, the solo project of Tale Of Us member and Afterlife co-founder Carmine Conte, headlined the opening night.
The performance introduced the venue with a musical direction connected to contemporary melodic techno and atmospheric electronic music.
The following day featured two separate experiences.
Saturday afternoon’s outdoor event brought together Malive and Liva K, offering an open-air session from 4 PM until 11 PM.
Later that evening, Danish electronic music producer Kölsch took over the indoor space with support from Lauren Nikohl.
The three events presented different musical atmospheres across the same weekend, highlighting the flexibility of ORIGIN’s indoor and outdoor spaces.
A Custom KV2 Audio System Built Around the Music
One of the venue’s most important features is its dedicated sound installation.
ORIGIN has been equipped with a custom analog KV2 Audio system designed to deliver detailed, consistent sound throughout the main room.
A separate sound system has also been developed for the outdoor area.
The venue’s visual and spatial design was led by Marc Dizon, whose previous projects include well-known nightlife locations such as Output in New York, Brooklyn Mirage, Hakkasan Las Vegas and Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles.
The combination of an industrial setting, specialized sound engineering and adaptable performance areas reflects the growing importance of production quality in modern electronic music venues.
Rather than relying exclusively on visual spectacle, ORIGIN places emphasis on the listening experience and its relationship with the physical environment.
More Electronic Music Events Already Confirmed
Following the opening weekend, ORIGIN has announced additional performances for the coming weeks.
Yung Bae is scheduled to appear on October 23, followed by Italian melodic electronic duo Fideles on October 30.
German producer Christian Löffler will bring his live electronic sound to the venue on November 5, while Mira is scheduled for November 7.
The programming demonstrates the venue’s intention to explore multiple branches of electronic music rather than focusing exclusively on one genre.
The owners have also outlined plans for live performances, daytime outdoor parties, independent promoter collaborations and other cultural events.
A New Home for LA’s Electronic Music Community
The opening of ORIGIN arrives during a period of significant development for the electronic music scene in Los Angeles.
While the city has long been home to major clubs, international touring artists and underground warehouse events, demand continues for dedicated spaces offering different musical experiences.
ORIGIN’s independent approach and adaptable layout position it as a new addition to that landscape.
With its grand opening completed and an extensive program taking shape, the Arts District venue is preparing to become a regular destination for house, techno and alternative electronic music.
ORIGIN Los Angeles is located at 613 Imperial Street, Los Angeles, California.
