Chicago house legend Green Velvet and Greek producer Detlef have joined forces once again for ‘Work With Me’, a new tech house single released through Patrick Topping’s Trick label, featuring a heavy bassline, distinctive vocals and a groove-driven production.

Two established names in underground house music have reunited for another collaborative release.

Green Velvet and Detlef officially released Work With Me on October 2, 2026, through Trick, the record label founded by British producer Patrick Topping.

The single follows their earlier collaboration Bounce UR Body, released through Cloonee’s Hellbent Records in June.

With their latest production, the artists continue exploring the relationship between classic Chicago house influences and contemporary tech house.

A Powerful Club Track Built Around Green Velvet’s Vocals

Work With Me features a 130 BPM arrangement centered on a prominent bassline, tightly programmed percussion and Green Velvet’s characteristic vocal delivery.

The production maintains a direct, club-oriented structure, combining repetitive rhythmic elements with a vocal hook that gives the track its identity.

Green Velvet’s distinctive voice has been an important part of his productions for decades, connecting spoken-word performances and memorable phrases with underground house music.

In Work With Me, that approach returns through a production designed for DJ sets and energetic dancefloors.

Detlef contributes his contemporary tech house production style, bringing the track into a musical environment associated with modern underground clubs.

Following Their Collaboration on Hellbent Records

The new single continues a creative partnership already established earlier in 2026.

In June, Green Velvet and Detlef released Bounce UR Body through Hellbent Records, the imprint founded by British producer Cloonee.

The track received support from several established electronic music artists, including Pete Tong, A-Trak, Gorgon City and Tony Romera.

Its reception demonstrated the compatibility between the two producers’ musical approaches.

While Green Velvet contributes his longstanding experience in Chicago house and techno, Detlef represents a more contemporary interpretation of groove-focused club music.

Their second collaboration builds on those foundations, maintaining a strong emphasis on rhythm and vocal personality.

Green Velvet: A Pioneer of Chicago House

Green Velvet, whose real name is Curtis Jones, has played an important role in electronic music since the early 1990s.

Also known through his Cajmere alias, the American producer helped shape the development of Chicago house through influential releases and his work with Cajual Records and Relief Records.

Throughout his career, he has developed a distinctive identity based on hypnotic arrangements, unconventional vocals and energetic club productions.

His discography includes recognizable tracks such as La La Land, Flash and Bigger Than Prince.

His collaborations have also connected him with artists from different generations of electronic music.

Detlef Continues His International Rise

Greek DJ and producer Detlef has established a strong reputation through releases on labels including Hot Creations, Solid Grooves, Repopulate Mars and Defected.

Known for his stripped-back approach to tech house, Detlef regularly combines rolling basslines with sharp percussion and carefully arranged vocal samples.

He also operates his own Issues imprint, providing a platform for his original productions and other artists working within underground house music.

His collaboration with Green Velvet represents another addition to a catalogue closely connected to international club culture.

Another Release for Patrick Topping’s Trick Label

The release also highlights the continued activity of Trick, Patrick Topping’s independent record label.

Since its creation, the imprint has developed a musical identity centered on house, techno, acid and contemporary rave influences.

Its catalogue has become a platform for both established performers and emerging producers exploring energetic electronic music.

With Work With Me, Green Velvet and Detlef contribute a collaboration that connects two generations of underground house.

The single is available now through Trick Records, adding another club-focused production to October’s electronic music releases.
